A passion for wings and pizza is what inspired Larry Swayne to turn an ordinary pairing into a match made in mobile heaven. Launched in October 2010, Wingzza (originally Holy Matrimony Wings & Pizza) took the Queen City by storm when it pulled up curbside to satisfy a craving for big city eats on growing city streets.
Our mission is to provide top-notch pizza and top-flight wings (See what we did there?) all over the QC from the Wingzza window, and many of our most dedicated followers say, “Mission accomplished!” Specializing in the nuts and bolts of pizza, Wingzza’s distinctive recipe hooks fans from the first slice; while our jumbo deep-fried wings tossed in signature sauces are routinely ordered in tens, twenties, and even hundreds.
Wingzza made such a splash in Charlotte within our first year that we garnered national media attention by being selected as the “Best Slice in North Carolina” by Food Network Magazine as part of their 50 States, 50 Pizzas feature! We’ve also been spotlighted on the Cooking Channel’s “Pizza Outside The Box” highlighting our creative way of doing great pizza on wheels and Global Grind.com as part of Foodie Friday recognizing great places to eat in the South. Locally, we’ve been selected by CBS Charlotte as a top food truck in the city as part of their “Best of” series and have received coverage in Creative Loafing, Pride Magazine, The Charlotte Observer, WCNC News 36, Charlotte Magazine, CLT Blog, and WFAEats.
